A tale of two little ducks...

Hello all..i hope that your all ok after the wind last night..apparently its Storm Desmond making his presence felt.
Its going to blustery and wet over the weekend..good job we have some indoor activities and games for us all.
Well today's book is called The Ducks' Winter Tale..its about 2 little ducks who don't listen to the other animals and then get lost in a blizzard and end up in picnic basket on the stage at a Pantomime..
We found these ducks in an old colouring book and cut them out..then Fern dipped a cotton wool ball in white paint and dotted it about..she then sprinkled the dreaded glitter..i think its quite cute.
I printed off the girls letters to Santa..
We also made some more jam..Blackcurrant this time only 2 and a bit jars but its still a welcome addition to our pantry.
Simon made more French Bread 3 loaves this time..it tastes delicious..we spread it whilst warm with some butter and then Blackcurrant Jam..ooh that will be gone in a flash ..so good.

I also did a little craft thing today..i have had this old letter rack for years..it got that stuffed with letters it all popped out..so i fixed it up and was actually going to buy a new one..but then i had a BING moment..all i had to do was decoupage it..
Look at the poor thing..can you see the tape holding it together

I got all my wallpaper samples out..cut out the shape then glued it on..

The front of it..i had to tape up the bottom to make sure nothing falls out

Then i papered the inside..its not the greatest but it will last me another 10 years now.
Have you ever done anything like this..it saved me a few pounds and i could have kicked myself for actually looking at buying one..

  1. Hi! I teach Kindergarten in the US and also fear glitter since my classroom is completely carpeted. However, I use a big sheet of newspaper, have the kids shake the excess glitter on it and then fold the paper and funnel the excess glitter back into the container. It works a treat!
