Just waffle..

Hello everyone , how are you all?

This is the week that the clocks go back and we get those nights starting to close in quicker and we all gain an hours extra sleep, does it really feel like you do though? Not sure about anyone else but my internal clock wakes me at 6ish every morning no matter how light or dark it is, i  was disorientated this morning when i woke to sunshine and it was 7.30 but i can admit that i forgot to put my bedside clock back an hour,it's going to take time to get used to it again.

I did do all the clocks downstairs before we went to bed and just about everything else does it automatically thank god, i would be running round doing them all in every room for ages.

I didn't sleep too well as the wind is battering the side of the house and making our vents rattle like billy 'o' going for it.We put away bits in the garden that might get blown around, i took the swing set shade off and put it away , good job i did as well the wind is blowing directly at it and i really didn't fancy having that blowing around the yard all night . The rest is all good, the new fence posts we put in are doing what they were made for and keeping our fences solid and no wobbling. Strange how the first thing i do every morning is check the garden to make sure all is good wether there is a storm or not. We have worked hard on our garden this year and we would be devastated if anything happened to it.

The ceilings are drying out nicely and i am looking forward to getting on with it and re decorating our hallway and kitchen but they will have to wait a while as we have news on the shed's arrival date.

The new shed we ordered months ago is being delivered on the 4th of November between 7am and noon. It made us chuckle a bit as we spent quite a lot of money on it and all we have had is 2 emails, thats it nothing else, one confirming purchase and the other with a delivery date, we feel a bit underwhelmed for the amount of money we spent but then times have changed and i suppose what we spent is just a drop in the ocean for most companies .

Iris and myself had a Dental check up this week, all good thankfully. It still takes a chunk of time  out the day and now we have a new Dentist he is much better at time keeping than the last one who would always be at least 30 minutes behind and i would get annoyed at having to wait so long when they give you grief if you are late for your appointment, when you point this out to the receptionist you are met with silence and a glare. The new chap is much better and so far he is on time. I do like the new check in tablet and also the fact i can update anything online before we go.

I visit a lovely couple every week to see if they are ok and also have a cuppa and chat, they are both in their mid 80's and the most adorable people i have ever met. they have been married for 60 years and are as devoted to each other today as when they first married. I found out this week that the lady gave birth to a 13lb baby , good grief this woman is legendary, she just smiled and said " o yes he was a big baby" i mean 13lb is not big it is enormous, bless her little soul. I am in awe of this wonderful little lady. I totally enjoy my visits and we talk about anything and everything, they have let me cry on their shoulders over the loss of my uncle and my little jack and are always welcoming and warm  and full of wisdom and wonderful stories of how life was when they were growing up  and firstly married. It is one of the highlights of my week.

One of our daughters came for a cuppa and chat , she took home some Pumpkins for the twins and also some to cook and eat for herself. I honestly look at her and think how lucky we are to have amazing children and grandchildren in our lives.

We had a late delivery the other night, i was just going  for a bath at about half 7 , the poor postman looked wet through and totally bedraggled, i said about it being late and he said we deliver now til 8. I was honestly a bit hesitant about answering the door that time of night , i checked our doorcam before i did. Just recently in our area we have heard reports of people having their doors tried and the police have put out warnings to keep everything locked. My delivery lady told me her back door was tried last week, thankfully it was locked but it bothered her, it is not nice to have someone try to invade the safety of your home. As soon as my hubby goes to work our house is locked up, gates locked , doors locked and door curtains pulled across, even now in daylight we still keep gates locked and doors as well.

So that is my weekly waffle, not much substance to it all but that is ok.

Take care everyone

Love Ftm🍂
