Hello July.
Hello everyone,how are you?
Thank goodness the weather is definitely cooler and fresher this week, i love it and so does hubby. What a lovely start to July. It really feels like this year is going to fly past at this rate.
We have been back in the garden catching up. I have been cleaning the old green house glass panes before they are put into place. We only had to stop as we ran out of clips. But so far so good.
I set up a little cleaning spot under the trees , bucket of warm soapy water, sponge and dodging the Pigeons that decided to poop or were playing target practice with me.
Yesterday we removed the Plum tree, not an easy job, little bit awkward to get at , we managed to do it and we will chainsaw the trunk in sections until it is ground level. I felt sad at cutting it down because it has provided us with absolutely delicious plums for the last 5 years, unfortunately we didn't plant it in the right spot and it has just gone totally wild, hanging over the neighbours fence and it was so hard to get at to prune. It has now sadly gone. Hubby did promise to buy me another one but in the right spot this time. It was time for it to come down, we want to put the glass panes in the roof of the green house but actually couldn't until the tree was gone, we were worried in case a branch broke free and smashed the roof
I spent the afternoon dragging huge branches across the garden to cut up and stack neatly until my Green bins get emptied again. I got some nice blisters. This afternoon whilst awaiting the green house clips we set to and de-weeded the gravel area under the dining room window. We have plans for this area as well. Moving the She shed, taking down the Pergola and putting up a sun shade that winds in and out plus new gravel and furniture. Sounds like a lot but it will come down quicker than it went up for sure. We do have to put electrics under ground but that is the easiest part i think, well hubby doesn't but once that it done then we can crack on with it.
Look what decided to grow in our garden,
We have no idea where it came from, it just appeared over a few months, at first we thought it was an Ever green plant, we decided to leave it and see what it turned out to be and it surprised us as it apparently likes a marshy area to grow. It is called Sedge. We have checked the drain it is next to and it hasn't broke through or sent any roots down, we are going to leave it, It must have been a bird poo seeding, i absolutely love it. It will stay and be trimmed a bit to get it under control but just how wonderful it is.
