Next week..
Hello everyone , how are you all doing in this heat?
I find it oppressive and not one bit enjoyable. I know, i know we should be enjoying the sunshine and to a point i have. I have washed things that would take forever to dry but this time it took about 2 hours to become literally crispy. I have washed , cooked , cleaned and then quit in the afternoons.
We have so much to do in the garden but my hubby cannot go out in this heat and sun. He is covered head to toe in Factor 50 just to go and open the green houses and sheds, poor chap looks like Casper. The Consultant at the Skin Cancer check up gave him quite the telling off last time because he some sun tan on his arms and neck, so really this week is hell for him.
Our plans this week included getting the glass in the old green house, even though i started to clean them in the shade i started sweating and felt quite ill, so i gave up and i will do it next week.
The green house in it's old position, we managed to move it to it's new one in just a day.
The look amazing in the new spot.We fixed the old staging and cleaned it up, then gave it a nice thick coat of paint. We reinforced them both as well, there was an incident of wood flying through the air and hitting me in the chest, but we won't mention it, total freak accident , as i was standing well away from the saw, it just flew across the garden and hit me, OOFF it got me good and what a whack, but i am ok. Moving them was a tactical manoeuvre, not a Chuckle brother situation either., then we realized one was the wrong way around so out it came and across the garden again to re jig it then back in. I then thought if it's wrong this time, i don't care it is staying put. My patience was gone . I have to be honest it hasn't really come back all week.
Lots of things have been put off until next week when it will be more manageable and we won't feel like passing out and taking an eternity to cool down. I think lack of sleep would be a bad thing when handling glass panes and trying to put them in safely. We also wanted to remove the Pergola we have above the dining room, how ever i don't think there is any amount of Sun Cream to properly protect hubby and me from it all. So that is now a next week job. The amount of jobs for next week are piling up.
We have done a few inside jobs, we moved our back porch around and moved the hat rack and key box to be a bit higher , this way nothing is dangling just above the new bins that are taller than the older ones. Hubby sorted out all the old keys we had, found some for the original front and back doors and back gates, they have been recycled. My lovely son took me and what felt like a ton of books to the local Post Office for them to sell, little do they know i have another 4 bags worth and i am not talking about your normal bags i mean the huge storage ones..o they are gonna love me.
Following the Governments advice our curtains and blinds are closed to stop the heat getting in but what about the bloody heat that is already in the house, our Air con is on and fans are whirring away day and night, we have just about got it cool enough to live without sweating every second.
I am so looking forward to next week, i know i shouldn't wish days away but come on next week i am waiting for you.
Take care all
Love Ftm💙
