Quick finger
Hello everyone, how are you today?
The weather has reverted to normal, rain , rain and grey. I am so glad we took the opportunity to do what we needed to do in the garden before it changed. I helped hubby do the Ivy, it's a bone of contention. The neighbours just leave their side which i suppose is fair as it is not theirs, however i would think a bit of common sense comes into play when it starts to invade , but nope they are quite happy to leave it and complain about it very loudly in the garden. Never mind we did it and it is done for a while now, we like to do it this time of year before the Blackbirds and Robins start nesting in it, we don't like the idea of disturbing them once they are settling in. It looks neat and trimmed down, the clippings of which there are many , have been swept up and popped in the compost and Green Bin. I leave the bin lid open for a while afterwards so any Ladybirds can escape and fly away. I got absolutely covered in dust and twigs from it all, when i had a bath and washed my hair it all floated out, some what looking like a compost heapš.
However this is not my post today. I have made a huge mistake and i mean huge. As you all know from last week i am looking to replace my living room rug with a washable one due to the poor dog getting older and accidents happening, not often thankfully but they do happen. The rug i currently have has been cleaned but you get a whiff now and again.
I did order one and it arrived but honestly it looked White not the Dark Beige i wanted. That one was returned before anyone could even walk on it, it looked like a wisp of fabric and seriously not tough enough to withstand our household.
I waited until i got my refund and i found another one and the price was reasonable, plus it was washable. I have the habit of having a quick finger when i am on the internet shopping and add things to my basket with out checking the important stuff as in this case the size. I have to admit i did put in the colour and size i wanted and up popped this stunning rug. Assuming the search had stuck to it's parameters. I didn't check and bought it.
Well this rug arrived and i couldn't wait to get it down. As it unrolled it i kept thinking Jeez it's a lot bigger than i thought. This time i looked at the labels and realized i had F***KED UP bigtime.
Here it is in all it's glory
I had to tuck it under the sofa, it's way to big , looks like a bloody carpet not a rug.
I have been in touch with the company and admitted my mistake, i am returning it and will get another one in the size i want. Sheesh all this hassle for a darn rug. I have learned my lesson, no more quick finger and double bloody check everything. And as for being washable it is but what kind of washing machine is that big for it to fit in. I am currently awaiting labels so i can return it.
No more quick finger buys for me.
Take care all
Love Ftmš¼
