New Floor..
Hello everyone , how are you all?
I think today is the first day in forever that we have not had any rain and we haven't had to put the heating on, will it last ?
Due to the weather being miserable my hubby put our new Kitchen floor down. Our old one had been down for about 6 years, not bad really. How ever the high traffic and a washing machine leak took it's toll on it. We had some fading and also lifting of tiles. Don't get me wrong it was clean and mopped two / three times a week but as it aged it just looked a bit grubby. We measured worked how many we needed and then took a long time to find the ones we wanted, not an easy choice with the vast array on offer these days. We need something hard wearing and doesn't show the dirt up and every bloody crumb you can think of.
We settled on a nice Walnut that wasn't too dark and not the light stuff either.
So work commenced, knee pads, scissors, pencil, ruler and patience at the ready.
We started in the little walk through that leads to the hallway and porch area.
We carried on and into the actual Kitchen floor ..you can see here the new lighter floor and the old darker one.Jack Dog came to help but ended up just leaving us to it. We pulled out all the appliances and tiled underneath and i put those felt feet things on the bottoms so we can move them easily and they don't scratch the floor.
Almost 2 hours of measuring, cutting and making sure they stick down and Voila all done.
We have quite a few tiles left over and i am hoping i will be able to do the Little Pantry floor, but we will see.
It wasn't cheap and not over the top expensive either , middle of the road but 5 star reviews, so you can guess where i got them.
Love to you all
Ftm🌼
