Blue Monday.
Hello everyone , how are you all today?
Today is Blue Monday..
It is the most depressing day of the year, Christmas and New Year are long, the weather is grim and then to top it off the Credit Card bill drops through the letter box ,Ouch!!.
So what can you do to stave off the blues.
So what if the festive season is over, it will come again, maybe plan ahead for this year, make a list of things you want to do in the house and garden. If you can print off some pictures you took of Christmas and New Year pop them in a book and look forward to making more memories
Have a look around the house and see if you can change things around, have a clear out, sell them or donate. I find moving bits and bobs around just makes rooms look better, buy some little plants they brighten up any area.
Put on the lamps to create cozy and welcoming vibes, have a home made coffee and just sit and chill.
Worrying about something is not going to change it, it will be whatever it is, you can of course tackle whatever it is and then stop worrying easier said than done ,i know.
As for Credit Card debt, well you can do a few things, cut them up and pay it off, stop using it until the payment is more affordable, seek help from them,lower the payments. Probably professional advice is needed and not some random blogger.
Tomorrow is always another day and the problems of today will still be there,it's how you cope and handle it that matters.
Prioritize family and home, they come first. The roof over your head and bills are next , today there are lots of organizations out there who will listen and help you get on top of things. Food banks and Pantries also. You can google them also the local Councils have advice and will point you in the right direction,some Churches also have Food Pantries.
Mental health is extremely important, look after yourself. There are places you can ring to just talk, or have a good friend who will listen to you, sometimes just saying things out loud can make it better, not get rid of it but relieve some of the stress you are carrying around.
Physical Health is another one, go for a walk,the fresh air does wonders for you, clears the fog and makes you feel good, doesn't matter what the weather is just 20 minutes outside can improve your health mentally and physically.
I am not expert but these are things that have helped me in the past.
Making a list and plan gives you a goal to work towards.
Sorting finances and sticking to a budget gives you a sense of purpose, do i need/want that, No, then that's money in the bank that will stay there.Look around for better deals for Insurance, Groceries,Internet, Utilities,honestly every penny saved is a blessing.
Do what makes you feel good because if you feel good it radiates outwards.
Put some music on and have a dance, who cares who is watching,just do it.
Remember there is always some one who actually cares what is happening to you and how you feel.
Like i say i am no expert at all, just a mum and someone who cares what happens to others.

Let's turn this Blue Monday into Pink Monday and have a good giggle and take charge of the year.
We all walk our own path , occasionally they intermingle with others but always stay on your path, it's your's and your's alone it will get you to where you want to be
