Back at it...

Hello everyone , how are you all today?

The snow has gone to be replaced by rain and a chilly wind that is blowing on the back of  the house, which means that it is going to be Arctic conditions in the bathroom tonight, we have the window open slightly to get rid of extra steam and moisture, honestly you need to wrap up to have a pee or even worse getting naked for a bath, i am not looking forward to it. Not sure what is worse, getting undressed and getting in or getting out to be immediately frozen and trying to hold on to some of the warmth from the bath water.

So this week means everyone is back to work or school, for us it's back to it.

Hubby has been making this years first batch of bread and cobs.

The last of the Christmas ham went at the weekend so i roasted a gammon joint.
The laundry kinda piled up , i only washed essentials and uniforms over the holiday but my basket is now full and i have to catch up with it all. I really cannot stand to have laundry piled up and in a back log.

I have rearranged my book case and moved some books to the unit in the corner..i think it makes it look lighter and not so cramped .

I like it ,it may not be to everyone's taste but for now i am happy with it.
I have my basket of next books to read already to go..
We have been shopping this week ,only for fresh stuff and food we have run out of. I still have some Gateaux left and Cheesecakes plus a whole selection of Cheeses and crackers. I will be using up leftovers but there is not much so that is in my favour as it means i got my Christmas food shop just about right.
The whole house is now back to normal, just got to settle in to the new year and new rhythm's , new jobs and new little family members.
Couldn't resist having a little cuddle with Eddy when i went to visit my Grand Daughter for her birthday.

How cute is he, and totally unbothered by the attention, probably secretly loving it but we all know cats and he won't show it.
I caught Jack dog looking all lonely the other morning, everyone had gone out and i was hoovering upstairs, pretty sure he thought he was all alone, i came down to this..
He was so happy to see me when he turned around, poor chap thought we left him.

We are currently waiting for the new Storm Goretti to hit us and making plans on how it will affect people getting to work and home safely. I personally have zero plans to go out anywhere i am quite happy at home and i am writing down my baking list for Saturday. I find if i write down what i want to bake then tick each one off i get prepped before hand, making pastry the day before and getting my Pancake batter ready as well, so i just don't have everything everywhere, i love baking but do not love the washing up during or after , i try to do as much before hand as i can.

So if you want me i will be the one curled up in the corner of the sofa with my lovely new book, wrapped in a throw and a nice cuppa at hand and probably Jack dog next to me keeping me company, not that he wants me to keep him warm though.

Everyone take care
Love Ftm🌲
