December

It's finally here the month i look forward to the most. Christmas build up is the best feeling, plus obviously the fact that i get to watch my loved ones faces unwrapping their gifts. As old as i am i just love Christmas and the whole  shebang that comes with it. Today i put up our Santa Advent and a few bits and bobs but the main decoration will take place on the 12th, we have always done it then and will continue to do so. I have some new cushion covers and table runner out , i retrieved my glassware from the box and washed them plus the christmas mugs, i know,  i know but they were on sale for a pound when i went shopping . I have done a vast majority of my gift shopping through out the year and i did take advantage of the Black Friday for one particular item that was reduced to less than half price, Iris asked for a specific pair of shoes and whoa the price was a bit high but in the sale they were manageable for us. I have my food shopping all booked in and ready to go and hubby has a week off before so we can go and get little bits and bobs and i am done.  I want to relax and enjoy all the build up and festivities, movies and food without being stressed about it all.

Jack dog had to get in the photo, last week was an absolute nightmare for him, he had the poops very badly. I had to cover everything in plastic and the poor dog just laid in his chair looking worse for wear, we did get him some medicine to stop the poops and it worked very well and he was back to normal within a few days , we were all very worried about him, all from changing his food over to meaty chunks in gravy from the dry dog food, never again, he can stay with his dry food, poor old fella. I felt for Fern getting up in the mornings and having to clean it all up , by the time we got up he had done it all over again. My carpet has been scrubbed and disinfected numerous times plus  i had to strip all the sofa cushions as he got in the living room and had an accident. This is the first time in the years he has been in the family that he has done anything like this in the house, thankfully he is 100% recovered.

At the moment out house is a little unsettled and hopefully we will get into a new routine, Fern with her new job is up at the crack of dawn to get there for the early shift , my son is taking her and picking her up, ain't he a hero, he doesn't want his little sister walking in the dark, bless him, then home as well. So meal times are a bit mixed and i try to make sure that i am cooking when everyone is here to eat properly and then hubby is at work later on in the day and my son is at work by midday, so its all over the place at the moment , we will get there. I have extra uniforms to wash and dry plus extra snacks for when they get home. Fern is enjoying her job and loves the early shifts as there are no customers 😁.

Next week i will spend a day baking cookies and mince pies for over the month and maybe some Gingerbread men if i get time. I have a Hot Chocolate mix all ready for those nights when we all need one .

We have celebrated 2 major birthdays in the last week, Fern turned 20 and hubby turned 60. We had presents and cakes, i put up decorations for both. Both had wonderful days and for whole family treat we decided to have a Chinese ..o it was delicious and enjoyed by everyone . I do have some leftover chicken balls and lemon chicken which will no doubt get eaten later today. We don't have these often yet when we do it is a total luxury and thoroughly decadent for us. It is not an every week occurrence or even monthly. We can't afford it for one and number 2 it's not really a treat if you have it all the time. Our local takeaway is so good and we have used them for years, Tin Sing's great food and lovely people, fast delivery.

So that's it for today.I will be back . Take care everyone.

Love to you all
