A lasting gift.

 Hello everyone , how are you all?

Many years ago we had the absolute best neighbours any one could ever dream of.  John and Marjorie, a.k.a adopted parents and grandparents. The hours they spent with our older children was amazing, teaching them to ride bikes and play the organ, having breakfasts together and overall being wonderful to our children. My heart actually broke when we had to move, if they had said one word about us not moving then i would not have gone at all, however they understood we needed the space and rooms for our growing family.

The day before we moved Marjorie gave me a Christmas Cactus. It was 2 little cuttings in a pot, she told me that in a few years it would bloom and be beautiful. I absolutely treasure this plant. The poor thing has been knocked over , dropped and knocked off windowsills but yet it remains loved and treasured.

He is now on my dining table permanently, i found a place that he loves and is thriving.

I took some of my own cuttings last year, and wow just wow they are blooming.

I have to admit that every single time i look at this beauty i remember John and Marjorie and how good and kind they were to us. Sadly they have both passed away now but their memory and love live on in this Christmas Cactus. I wonder if they know how much they were truly loved by us all.

This is truly a lasting gift.
