Bad Weather ahead.

Hello everyone , how are you all?

We have another Storm , this one is called Claudia . Lets hope it passes without incident and everyone is ok and safe. We have had warnings of power cuts, so i have a box of candles at the ready plus our torches and i have some of those little tealights that use batteries, some light is better than nothing. I have my old stove top kettle in the back Pantry as a back up in case.

I have my lamps on already and it's only just gone half 2 in the afternoon. What to do with yourself when you cannot get out to do what you want  the garden. We have a major project underway and all it has done since we started is bloody rain, absolutely typical , but it's not life threatening so it will just wait until we can do it.

Like most folks i try to be busy but there are times when you have just done it all and have absolutely nothing left to clean, polish, wash or sort so you can put your feet up and relax for a bit, however that only lasts so long as it soon piles up again.

Being one of those weeks i decided to use up the frozen fruit in my freezer and make Jam and i also defrosted a pack of Mince and made Meatballs ready for the next day's lunch.

Jam and Meatballs.. sounds like a kiddies song😁.

Some of the jars the others were put away, also i didn't get a pic of my meatballs as they were in the fridge and i forgot and very tasty they were as well, i like to make my meatballs in big batches so i can have a meal ready to go within hours.I just take out how many we need and leave the rest.

We did have an expense this week as my old faithful Mini combi oven decided to not work and to be fair the door was broken and not closing properly so it was not hitting the correct temperature to cook food, i was honestly panicking as it is the best thing i have ever bought. Quicker cooking times and no where near as expensive to run as my big oven.

Here is my new one

It is wonderful, so quiet and has about 18 functions on it. I use it everyday and hubby uses it to prove his bread. I just used it to cook a nice Gammon Joint for the week and also some nice battered Haddock for Fish Friday.

I have cleaned the fridge out and spent time restocking it. Tuna, tuna mayo, grated cheese, cheese cubes, fruit pots and jellies and some Sausage rolls.

So now i only have tea to do  for us now and have a nice warm bath but then i will have another meal to get ready  when my son comes home from work later on.I always do him beans on toast or cheese, he needs something but doesn't want a full meal so snack it is. Hubby will be home very late and i will be in bed but won't sleep until i hear he is home and safe.

We did pop into town this week, not something we do often .I went to B&M,  i got some lovely bits in the end of Season Autumn sale, technically it's still Autumn but they are now concentrating on Christmas which is not that far away.

A beautiful wreath, should have £15 i got it for £4
2 little Mushroom tealight holders, should have been £2.50 each i got them for 50p ,so for the grand total of a fiver i got some lovely bits, there is no way on earth i would have paid full price for them.
They will all be put away when i get my Christmas decor out. I was soo soo soo good going around the shops , i didn't buy just anything because i felt like it, i looked at the price and then thought where would i put it. My money only came out in B&M. I didn't even look at the free books outside a charity shop as i just don't have any more room at the moment, shame. It was just nice to have a wander around not feel any pressure to buy crap and keep up with the latest trends which are never ending.

For now i am going to have a nice homemade cob with some tuna mayo and a cuppa. Settle down and probably read my book for a while.

Take care everyone
