The Test Run

 Hello everyone, how are today?

It has definitely turned chilly here, we have had weather warnings for wind, rain and maybe a chance of flooding in low lying areas, thankfully it didn't come to that but we did have some strong winds. I was a little worried as the Council came 2 weeks ago and put scaffolding up at the front of our house to mend our chimney and some other bits that i didn't quite catch as i was being told what needed doing. I kept hearing weird creaky noises and one of the ridge tiles decided to go for a wander half way down the roof . Saying all that we got through and the roof is now fixed, we are just waiting for the scaffolding to be taken down.

It doesn't block out much light but i will be happier when it's gone.

We decided that today is going to the Test Run day for our heating. It hasn't been used since the end of March or maybe before that i can't remember. So far so good, the radiators as throwing it out nicely and the Hallway is absolutely cozy, we did purchase some new Thermal lined door curtains, so fingers crossed the heat will stay inside and not be sucked straight out the door.

We always do a quick test before the really cold weather gets here so if i have any issues we can the Council to come and mend it . For the last 2 years we have had problems with the boiler in the cold weather so i do not want them this year.

The house is warming up nicely and when i close the blinds and curtains i am hoping that the warmth will stay a bit longer. I have put my clothes horse near the big radiator in the dining room to dry some tights and a jumper. I have had to use my Drier this week, it's a heat pump one that doesn't use as much Electric and to be fair it really doesn't take that long either, a full load of clothes with a bath towel thrown in take about an  hour, i am very happy with it and i use it sparingly. Yesterday was a different matter as i was on the Peak Save from British Gas and got half price Electric for 2 hours, i put everything i had in that machine just to get it dry.

So far that's  me for this post i will be doing another .
