Baking Day

 Hello everyone , how are you all?

The weather seems to have cooled a bit and i find it so refreshing, not sweating just walking around.

I had a mass bake on Monday, we had run out of cookies and cakes, i did this on purpose so i could restock and batch bake instead of doing it in dribs and drabs.

In between doing this i also cooked dinner which consisted of Chips and sausages with beans.

I froze half and the other is packed away in tins for this week. I made Rock cakes, flapjack 2 kinds one fruity and one plain ,tarts and cookies. I will also be making some Cinnamon loaves and fruit cakes for the freezer. I like to have a stock of sweet things as you never know when the craving for a cookie will hit. 

We have been sorting the freezer and it is almost full with fruit and veggies but it is not big enough so we have decided to buy a little one just for overflow which is going to be a god send.

I took a break from baking to have a cuppa in the garden and fetch the washing in and i spotted this fella. 

He looks cute but there is no way i am touching it..also we had a kerfuffle in the kitchen, the girls were going on their walk but in the way was a monstrous spider just sitting on the door. Simon thankfully is not bothered by them and caught him and threw him  out the window, where it preceded to sit and try and get back in, Iris closed the window in the end. It's a biggie..it seems spider season is starting early.

Most of the time i don't mind spiders but when they look like they could pick up the dog and walk off with him i draw the line.

I really don't think there is a way to stop them coming in the house, we don't have a lot of clutter  for them to hide in and i remove any webs or cobwebs as soon as i see them , i put conkers in the window sills as apparently they don't like them but i don't think anyone has told the spiders that. In the end they are not doing any harm and we just catch them and pop em outside.  No harm no foul.
