Lots going on..

Hello everyone , how are you on this very hot and muggy day?

It is currently raining and very cloudy here with the threat of storms, well bring it on then, i don't mind the warm but being humid and sweaty is not my fave thing. I want some cooler air and a fresh breeze.

The allotments have been suffering and hubby and kiddos have been daily to water and make sure everything is ok. We have had plenty of Strawberries and Rhubarb but they are now slowing down, I have made pie fillings and also frozen quite a lot  of it for puddings. The allotments are all planted up now with the last ones going in over the last few weeks, beans, swede, cabbage and the rest of the bedding in as well. We have a fox problem at the allotments and to be honest people are encouraging it with its cubs, so far they have dug up some spuds and gnawed on onions plus they have pooped everywhere. I am unsure what we can do to stop them , lots of people have fenced off their plots but they find a way in. Not really what we want but until people stop feeding them they will be there.

The Beetroot is coming and we have boiled it, sliced it and frozen it, this will be pulled out the freezer and defrosted then the pickling liquid will be poured over it and it is beautiful.

I have been re decorating the dining room slowly, trust me to pick the hottest week to start. I have also had a massive clear out of crap and its gone and i feel lighter and my dining room looks clearer and larger. So far it has cost nothing, i already had the paint from the kitchen. I have some curtains in my Amazon basket and new chair covers which will total just under £40. My daughter has given me some absolutely gorgeous table mats and i already have some table cloths. I can't wait to get it done and have a new calming vibe in there.

We dug out the fans and air conditioning unit which the dog absolutely loves.

Me and the girls have been busy baking and we also re stocked the Pantry and sorted the chest freezer out. I joined the British Gas Peak Save..i get half price electricity for about 3 hours every few weeks, these afternoons are when i bake and do anything extra that i need to do, so far this year i have saved over £25 on my electric, probably not  a lot in the grand scheme of things but it all helps.
I have been sitting out in the evenings to just relax and enjoy the garden. But i am being spied on....

Can you see the cat ?
We also have a drone that flies over most evenings, i don't mind but when it stops and hovers over the garden i have an issue, not a lot i can do about it, it is annoying and i have no way of knowing who it is either.
The plans we made to totally over haul the garden are on hold and we will see how hubby's back is before we decide to do anything, painting and redecorating i can do and most things as well but putting up new fences and sheds is not my forte as they say.

Today is our 39th Wedding Anniversary.

I am so happy to say it really doesn't feel like 39 years, it seems like only yesterday. I am a very lucky lady to be loved by my husband.

The sun is out again and it's hotting up..i am a little disappointed as i really wanted a storm to cool it all down , plus i am having a hot flush as well.."for gawd's sake" 😡.
Ok i am going to go and sit in front of the air conditioner until i feel cooler or even better cold.
Take care everyone
Love Ftm🌻

  1. Happy 39th Wedding Anniversary, its so nice to hear of people who have stuck together through thick and thin. We are heading towards our 52nd Anniversary and I really don't know where that time has gone. I have a large bag of 'stuff' to go to a charity shop and we need to do a tip run. Apparently foxes don't like human pee, so your OH and son could mark out your borders. Have a great weekend. Xx

    1. Hi Gill..Wow 52 that is absolutely amazing, Congratulations to you both.. I told my hubby about the pee, he thinks its hilarious and also thinks its worth a try. I love having a clear out and in some way i hope that what i give to the charity shop will be what someone else is looking for.

  2. Happy anniversary. Ours was last week, 36yrs for us. We have a drone that flies around above our house. It drives me mad!! Your little doggy looks so comfy! Our 2 hate this heat and have been moping around, poor things.

    1. Hi..36 years is a good accomplishment these days, Congratulations. I hate the drone but i have no idea who it belongs too, other neighbours are complaining as well about it, not really sure what the council can do though. Jack dog is spoilt rotten and loved the air conditioner, pretty sure he gave me side eye when i switched it off. thankfully it is cooler today.
