Spring has sprung.

Hello everyone , how are you all?

It has been a weird week weather wise , strong winds and quite chilly as well, i took my life in my hands putting the washing out. I got slapped around the face by huge bath towel and had Catkins pelted at me every time the wind blew. I did manage to get it dry but i had to double peg it in places, and today is still as windy and nippy out. We did have some rain too, but absolutely no one complained about it as we needed it at the allotments.

All the Fruit trees have blossomed and they are beautiful. It costs nothing to look out the window and just marvel at how gorgeous it looks and smells.

Our Watercress experiment is going well.. we put it in a box with some gravel to weight it down and it hasn't wilted or been nibbled by the fish. The other new pond plants seem to be settling in and hopefully they will grow and provide shade and the reeds will be used by the Dragon flies to lay their eggs, well that's the plan. Wether it works out or not is not down to me.

My lovely hubby has been a busy boy in the greenhouses and sorted the garden bedding plants for the year.

The Potatoes are also growing quietly away and surprising me very morning when i check just how much the have grown over night.
We are lucky to live where we do, almost everyday we see Red Kites, swooping and gliding through the air. They look absolutely magnificent flying over the garden, i mean they are up in the sky not swooping down in my garden ( i should be so lucky), we now have 3 of them all hovering around. The other birds are not keen and go and harass them til they leave , they really are a sight to see.
I managed to get a quick snap of one it's not great but you can make out the shape of it.

Can you all remember i told you about my clever husband renovating an old Rotovator and he got it working. This week it went up to the Allotments to earn it's keep. There is absolutely no way it would fit in the car so the only option was to walk up with it.

So off they all went up the road, waking up all the neighbours as they went.

I was fortunate enough to be given a tray of eggs again, so me and Fern spent 2 afternoons baking and making piles of pancakes.

We still have half a tray left and we will be back in the kitchen making more cakes and bits , i did freeze all of this and it will all come in handy for desserts and break fasts.
I cooked a nice Gammon joint and also i am about to pop a Turkey Crown in the oven all ready for tomorrow. I saved this one when i got them at Christmas. I love Turkey at Easter but i can very rarely find them so i planned ahead and bought an extra. No one else likes Lamb apart from me, so it's Turkey tomorrow .
I wish you all a very lovely Easter and enjoy the long weekend.
Love FTM🌼🐇
