It begins.
Hello everyone , how are you today?
It was an expensive week for us here at Flowertot Mansion, i got my new denture plate and wow i love it.
It was Ā£130 but totally worth it, i can smile now without showing the gaps , my mouth is still sore from the extraction and obviously getting used to the new dentures is taking some time but i love them, i do talk like i have a sweetie in my mouth all the time , however the very lovely David who made them for me told me it will take a few weeks to get used to them and to take it slowly. Despite it being sore i am wearing them nearly all day and doing my best to eat with them in.
I arrived a bit too early for my appointment so my son and i walked up the High Street, we went into a second hand shop and i found stacks and stacks of Craft Magazines, i dived in and found some Jewellery Magazines for Iris and Crochet ones for Fern , the box said 50p each not bad i thought, i also bought a book for 50p so by my math that is Ā£1.50. At the till the man told me the sign was wrong and the Magazines were a Ā£1 each, with a queue building i did query it but he was adamant, i reluctantly paid and took a quick look as i left and yes it said 50p each. Now not being a confrontational person i got a little petty, wrong i know. Outside the shop was a box of really old books for free, and i decided to take a few. i will probably never read them but i was annoyed by his attitude and blatant lie so now i have 3 books i won't read but look good on my mantle piece. š Sorry.
Hubby has been busy in the Greenhouse and he is now hardening off the little plants ready to go to the Allotments. This is just the tip of the iceberg as they say, pretty soon we will have enough seedlings and little plants to rival a nursery. They take over every available space in the garden, it begins to look like a garden centre at times watering and moving them in and around to get the best position in the sun, making sure they don't dry out and also not to become the slug and snail buffet and try to stop the cheeky sparrows and pigeons form nicking them.
There are Beetroots ,Onions, Lettuce all getting ready to go. We are changing what we do this and have our Lettuce at and Spring Onions at home so we can keep a closer eye on them and just pick as we need and not have a huge glut of them which we then struggle to eat and give away.
Being up early has its perks, i got all my laundry out before 8 in the morning and dry by lunchtime , i have watched the Magpies building a nest and then chase off the other birds that were getting to close. I watched a Hot Air Balloon appear and then go down, i only managed a quick shot as it was behind the houses for the most part. I love my quiet early morning time, i have a nice cuppa and update my diary and just enjoy the peace of the home before everyone gets up.
My little Daffodil bed is coming along nicely, some are just the greenery but that is what happens i suppose when you buy just a huge bag of bulbs and plant them and hope for the best.
My lovely son got me some free flowers again aren't they gorgeous.
I have some in my kitchen window as i just love looking at them when i do the pots.
I love the early mornings. This morning I have fed my starter, kneaded and shaped my dough, made some crackers and sorted out a messy corner in the kitchen. All very satisfying! Have a lovely week. xx
ReplyDeleteI see evidence of that 'make do or do without' mentality here in my country too. It is so second nature to people of my generation, but quite a new thought process to younger folks.
