Last post of the year.
Hello everyone , how are you all?
I really hope that you all had a wonderful Christmas with family and loved ones.
This year has been a roller coaster for our family. We have struggled through my husband having a double cancer diagnosis, my much loved uncle having a stroke and recovering from it. At times we seemed to have pushed it all to the back of our minds but it is always there lingering. The constant worry about it and his upcoming check ups. I think we have coped well and tried hard to not let it consume us but its very hard not to just let it wash over you and sweep you away in tide of pure fear. I too had some worries and thankfully the lump removed from my breast turned out to be benign and nothing to worry about ,however the fear was overwhelming and i felt a huge weight just float away when i got my results.
We have had some wonderful days as well, going to the Lincolnshire Show and days out to the Coast. Lovely and just what we needed to recharge our batteries. Our children have been a constant support for us. Re doing the bottom of the garden and setting up a gorgeous seating area that is in the shade so hubby can sit out and not worry about the sun on his head too much. I stream lined my kitchen and bought storage boxes and had the worlds biggest de clutter in just about every room in the house. We have decorated and upgraded appliances, started an on going issue with my boiler( not resolved) which is waiting for an engineer to arrive to fix it again, think this is the 6th timešbut it will get sorted fingers crossed.
So last week was wonderful and everyone had a lovely Christmas morning opening gifts and getting what they wanted which was a surprise, that's what they asked for a Surprise and boy did they get one, thankfully they all loved them.
The few days after were hard for meals as everyone was pigging out on Pringles , buffet food and Chocolate. I decided enough is enough and cooked a delicious dinner for everyone yesterday.
I have my New Year Turkey defrosting ready to be cooked later today. My son brought home armfuls of Flowers from his workplace as they were all going to be binned, such a shame as they are all perfect and i did end up giving some away as i just don't have that many vases.
Absolutely beautiful.
I'm glad you had such a lovely Christmas and a Happy New Year to you and yours. xx
