What a storm

Well last night the storm broke and it was a doozy..such a relief to be honest.
I missed most of it as i was in the bath.It was almost over when i got out..it continued to rumble for a while then petered out..we had heavy showers overnight and a biggie this morning.The temperature in our bedroom went down to 28..thats with windows wide open..so warm in there. We did manage to sleep a bit better but hubby was overtired and warm he gave up at half 6 and got up..i followed later after i woke up properly.. am hoping tonight will be  better for us. Our bedroom gets the sun first thing in the morning and then all day on the big outside wall.. its like an oven in there..thankfully we have a fan that makes it bearable.

The grass and plants all look totally refreshed and no doubt the rain will spur the grass back into action along with the weeds.
This morning its cooler and very windy but so nice to have that coolness and fresh air.
Hopefully now it has cooled a little we can get on with the garden..i refuse to sweat whilst doing nothing ..would rather be sweaty working than just sitting in the shade.
I am taking advantage of the cooler temperature to bake today, only cookies and flapjacks but we have run out of treats and i don't like to bake in the really hot weather.
