My little tradition..
Hello everyone and welcome to 2022.
I hope you all had a good night and not much of a hangover this morning. We stayed up til gone midnight and more or less destroyed a box of chocolates between us.
There were tons of fireworks going off and some real big boomers that i am sure shook the floor. The poor dog was sat with us shaking. He was fine once they stopped and we went to bed.
Now my little thing maybe superstitious or just a me thing but i refuse to throw away my old calendar until the actual 1st of January. I sit in my dining room and transfer birthdays and anniversaries from the old to the new. When i bought my new calendar i also bought a huge box of Birthday cards for everyone and inside it was a perpetual birthday list. Yay. So i have my new calendar up and my old one is going in the recycling. I feel like its out with the old year and in with the new when i do this.
Anyone else do this?
I have started my journal as well, i wrote down all my ideas and plans for the year in the back and they will be ticked off as i get through them. When i look at it i feel a little overwhelmed but then i remember i have all the time in the world and it doesn't need to be done now. My resolution a few years ago was to learn to have more patience not just with people but also to be patient and enjoy doing things i wanted to do. It' s paying off as i don't rush things any more and once its done i sit back and enjoy our efforts, rather than quickly move on to the next item on my list. I think with learning to be more patient has been helped by planning and setting aside definite time to do these things.
I hope that you all have a great start to the New Year and relax today.
