It was all going so well..

Hello all,how are you?
Well it was going so well then Wham out of no where we all came down with a really rotten summer cold..still bunged up and sneezing but feeling like myself again, the girls are on the mend also and my hubby is still snotty and having a thudding head..so not good.
I have been over run with Strawberries..i made jellies and put strawberres in them, milkshakes, lollies and finally this to use up the last remaining ones..

It was delicious and we have half left for tea today.
Apart from that there is really not much gong on here..we have no energy to do much..the allotments are fine and have been weeded we also hoed them both. The courgettes and pumpkins have been planted and are growing amazingly well..
I have sold some bits on Ebay and they have been posted ..i did buy a new book for Iris and some new hair clips but thats it.
I did a huge pantry shop and we are now stocked up for a good few months.
The chicken is continuing to lay an egg every other day which i am so pleased about.
The garden make over is on hold until we feel better..we did however manage to put up a new gate..which looks really good and will look better when its painted.

The really annoying news is that the Heron was back this week and in the bloody pond..actually in it when i saw him..now our fish are traumatized and in hiding and we only counted 8 ..we had about 20..so even though we felt like death warmed up we had to net the top of the pond to stop him coming again..hopefully now we are Heron proofed..thought we were before but he must have been very hungry to go in the tiny bit that was  not netted.
How are you all doing?

  1. That cake looks gorgeous. A treat to the eyes. I have lots of strawberries so I think I should make one. I’m trying to cut down on calories but sometimes a cake lifts everyone’s mood and makes you enjoy the summer days. Nothing like fresh strawberries.

  4. Open freeze your strawberries and then put them in a container or bag. Use them in trifle or fruit and jelly later in the year. When you put the frozen strawberries into the jelly it sets very quickly and the fruit stays whole with in it. Delicious!
