Valentine Yes or No..

Hello all how are you all today?
Firstly to Pattypan, many thanks for your advice on getting rid of my headache..i have done nothing but drink water today and rub my lobes..not sure if your pulling my leg about that bit but Bingo it worked..for the first time since Monday i am headache free.

So back to topic..Valentine..do you do it ? And by do it i mean buy soppy cards at stupid prices and silly gifts.Or do you abstain?
For a few years after we got married we did get  each other cards..it wasn't such a big deal back then not like nowadays..just about every advert is aimed at Valentine day..Buy her a Razor its Pink..yep am pretty sure if i had got a Razor for Valentine Day i would have been insulted..thinking do i have hairy legs or arm pits..is he implying i need to shave.
Valentine is now too commercial..it used to be just for fun..secretly sending someone a card..i got 3 one year when i was about 15..to this day i have no clue who sent them to me but thats the fun part..guessing who has a crush on you.
When your married you no longer have a secret crush..your married to the person you love.
If you go by the adverts on tv then you need a second mortgage to buy that special someone that must have Jewellery/Car/Shoes/Dress/Watch/Razor the list goes on and on and on...
Valentine is one day..what about the other 364 days..
As for me well..i don't need a card or gifts to know my husband loves me..he tells me every morning that i am beautiful..even when i have just given birth and am all red faced and sweaty and not my best he loves me for all that..and when i puked on him..he still said i was beautiful and to me that means more than any card could ever say.
I appreciate my husband every day and i also tell him i love him every day..
Maybe i am cynical or see through the commercial aspect  and how its been taken over by card shops, supermarkets just to milk more money out of your pockets..

And to the immature girl who was having a melt down because her fella couldn't afford a meal out and gift..grow up..cards fade away, jewellery tarnishes, chocolates melt, perfume slowly stops smelling nice..but the love of a good man never fades only gets stronger.
I wouldn't swap for the world.

Don't get me wrong there is nothing wrong with romance and showing someone that you love them ..but do you need Valentine Day to do it?
