Poor old Jack..
Hello all..how are you all doing today?
Firstly thank you to Claire and Cherie for getting in touch to leave your addresses..items will posted as soon as possible..i hope that you get a lot of use and enjoyment from them.
Now as you know we have a small dog Jack..he is full of energy and life and is always so pleased to people..he is not keen on big dogs..has only seen cats at a distance down the garden..he loves to jump up after Sparrows that fly in and out of the Ivy..the one thing he can't tolerate is Chickens.
When we first got him he would run around the garden like a crazy..tongue hanging out,rolling around..and more often than not he would just run straight into the pond and have to be rescued by us..he never took much notice of the Chickens..they were penned in,he would run up to the fence and have a look then he was off again.
That was all he did..until the day he was outside alone..he disappeared..we couldn't find him.
We could hear this whiny noise but just couldn't pinpoint where it was coming from..until out the corner of my eye i saw a black shadow run across the back of the Chicken pen..with 4 very fluffed up and irritated Chickens chasing him..they had him pinned in the corner and were giving him a serious pecking..we got him out and he was shaking like a leaf..no injuries that we could see.
Ever since then when ever he gets the chance he will run down the garden to the Pen and growl and bark and try to chase the Chickens..them being on the other side of the fence he thinks he is brave..to be honest they give him a look of pure disdain..and ignore him..well sometimes they squawk and fluff up at him..he runs off but comes back..we keep him away from them as i think they would hurt him and he them.
The only thing is since then when ever he hears a Chicken he jumps up and starts barking,whinning,crying..and at the most inopportune moments too..like yesterday..i was walking with a cuppa into the living room..River Cottage was on..what does he hear ??? yep A chicken and he starts..i almost dropped my cup..other times are when your sat nice and quiet and something that sounds Chickenish is on ..he goes berserk ..he makes me jump and he also Yips..you know he sits next to you and wether he hears something i don't but he Yips very loudly..its a good job i don't have a dicky ticker or i would have had serious problems by now.
But we do love him..
How about your dogs /cats..do they have any weird things they do..
